POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for alternating dietary aide and environmental services responsibilities.  Duties include but not limited to:

·       Communicating with food vendor if changes are to be made for meal counts or special dietary needs

·       Coordinating diet lists and tray cards

·       Deliver meals to units

·       Check and record temperature of food when it arrives

·       Pick up trays and clean up after each meal

·       Prepare and deliver nourishments

·       Records daily and weekly stock totals and communicates to manager when stock is low

·       Records temperatures of walk-ins, commercial refrigerator, and nurse’s station refrigerator/freezer

·       Clean food prep area throughout the day by wiping down surfaces and at the end of each shift

·       Sweeping and mopping food prep area

·       Environmental Service responsibilities include the 7 Step (daily) and 10 Step (weekly) cleaning procedures in all non-clinical areas as assigned

·       Collects regular trash

·       Maintains an attitude consistent with Alleghany Health and Environmental Services policies and procedures.  Is professional and shows a caring attitude to patients, family members, guests, and hospital staff

·       Is teachable and willing to perform duties assigned

Minimum Education Requirements:

·       High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
